How is stamped concrete different from a wooden deck or brick pavers?

  • Cost: After all is said and done standard installation of stamped concrete will cost nearly 30% less than either wooden decks or brick pavers

  • Maintenance: To keep a wooden deck in top condition requires a lot of maintenance and frequent refinishing. Additionally, the life expectancy is far shorter than concrete. Interlocking pavers, on the other hand, are known for settling unevenly and fostering weeds to grow between one another.

What does it cost?

  • Typically the cost is 10 to 15 dollars per square foot for patios. Borders, steps, stoops cost more.

What maintenance is required for stamped concrete?

  • To clean the surface of the concrete you can use a pressure washer or regular garden hose. We also recommend resealing the surface every 1-3 years. Concrete is very low maintenance and will never lose its strength. If it is time to reseal you patio, walkway, or driveway contact us today and we will be happy to give it the "like new" look for a reasonable price!

How's it done?

  • Stamped concrete is regular concrete that is poured to the specified depth that has color pigments added to it while still wet. After the concrete is placed a release agent is cast on top of the surface. Before the concrete hardens special stamping tools are then used to impress textures and patterns into the surface giving the concrete a decorative look. After the concrete is cleaned and dried it is sealed.

Will stamped concrete crack?

  • Stamped concrete is made with the same performance materials as any other residential and commercial concrete and can crack. To minimize any risk of cracking we follow three industry procedures to reduce the chances of cracks occurring. The first and most important is providing a solid ground with 4 inches of compacted sub-base of stone. Second, we place reinforcing wire mesh and rebar to further strengthen concrete. Third, which is optional, we can add fiberglass strands to the concrete mix.

Will the colors fade?

  • We use synthetic metal oxide pigments that are used in making bricks to color our concrete. These color do not noticeably fade for many years. Also, the sealer that is applied reflects ultraviolet sunrays to further protect the color.

Is stamped concrete slippery?

  • Stamped concrete's traction is similar to regular concrete. As a precautionary procedure we apply a shark grip to the surface of our work. This practice is highly effective in reducing slipperiness and does not alter the appearance of the finished product.
